Charlie Ford
Charlie Ford serves as Of Counsel at the firm and has a legal career spanning over thirty-five years. He has experience with Trusts & Estate Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Elder Law Litigation, Guardianship and Conservatorship Disputes, Real Property Disputes, Collection Matters, Probate, Estate Planning, Business Transitions Planning, and Outside Counsel Services. He has included stints as an Admiralty Lawyer, Corporate Counsel for one of Oregon’s largest companies, sole practitioner and, most recently, practicing in a law firm in downtown Portland.
In 2019, Charlie was successful in obtaining a six-figure judgment in a collection matter in Multnomah County court. He has litigated insurance coverage disputes and business liability claims. In addition to his litigation practice, Charlie regularly assists in-house counsel for a locally based corporation engaged in national and international transactions. Charlie is also a sought-after presenter at seminars for lawyers and other professionals on negotiations, probate administration, elder law and secured transactions.
Prior to practicing law, Charlie served as a licensed deck officer in the merchant marine. Charlie also spent two years in risk management earning the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation and won the Cristy Award. He credits his experiences as a ship’s officer and as a risk manager in helping him to develop a practical approach to legal problem solving.
When he isn’t working, Charlie has given of his time as a volunteer in a variety of activities, including Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader, youth soccer coach, Sunday school teacher and church leader, homeowner association president, and as a pet therapy volunteer at Randall Children’s Hospital, along with his personable toy poodle, Oliver.
