Ira Reid
For more than thirty-five years, Ira has served as a trusted advisor for debtors, creditors, bankruptcy trustees, indenture trustees, claims traders, equity security holders and other interested parties in chapter 11 financial restructurings, chapter 15 ancillary foreign insolvency cases, chapter 7 liquidations, Securities Investor Protection Act proceedings and out of court restructurings involving diverse industries, including the retail, real estate, financial services, and health care industries. Ira's experience also includes distressed M&A, structured finance, credit derivatives dispute resolution, bankruptcy dispute resolution, and commercial litigation.
Ira has spent time in Big Law as well as private practice. He is a skilled mediator, having completed the American Bankruptcy Institute's Mediation Training Program at St. John's University. His experience also includes cross- border transactions and the handling of a wide range of asset classes, including trade receivables, intellectual property, time share loans, student loans, commercial paper, whole company securitizations, commercial mortgage- backed securities, and collateral debt obligations.
